MeRelation between me and the light.
My name is Ruben, I am a photographer from Mexico City, residing in Quintana Roo, who studied chemistry and decided to apply everything I learned about particles, the way they travel, and how they interact with their environment; into photography, which at first became my passion, and after, my profession. I started getting deeper into photography ten years ago while taking a picture, I remember that I started thinking: “I had something different in mind before I pressed the button” and watch a different result given by the camera that was set to “Auto Mode”. Before that, I looked at photography just as a tool to prove or demonstrate something that needed evidence. The surprise came once I started experimenting with the camera, and the changes I could do while thinking about how to use light particles as a kind of paint strokes that will follow my imagination. After acquired the knowledge of how to work with light, I decided to apply it to immortalize feelings and unrepeatable moments, sometimes in photo-shootings with the whole family, sometimes in couple, while making a photo session for a professional portfolio , may be capturing a stunning surprise like the engagement, or very special events such as weddings, and other memorable events. Thanks to the evolving technology I haven’t set or find limits to my imagination combined with a camera. Therefore, I also have experience with the creation and production of content for corporates, websites, social media content, mostly but not limited to the area of: architecture, design, destination, gastronomy, events coverage, openings, and almost every idea that can be visualized and projected. |
Philosophy / PerspectiveTime and photography
Happiness more than a feeling is a state of mind, as untouchable as fleeting, it can be generated or blocked by the thinking of absence or presence of different factors, which together generate a state of wellbeing or worrying. Worrying starts at the thinking of something that could be not finished or done, while the wellbeing is generated from the absence of needs, it is to say, the understanding of the present and what this represents: the absence of time. What makes the photography to be unique, is the ability to capture with an irrefutable way a specific place and moment. Therefore, photography is indeed the immortalization of the moment, act, feeling, or event. Same that is as unique as unrepeatable, making the photography something irreplaceable. |
